font-size: large;\"><strong>THE POSSIBILITIES OF TELEHEALTH<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>The alarm clock rings. It\u2019s 7 am and Raquel gets up. The first thing she does is to check her glucose level on the digital sensor she has at home. Raquel has Type 1 diabetes and today she has a follow-up teleconsultation with her doctor. She has a video call at 8 am with her doctor and they comment on the factors that the system has been registering. The doctor has access to them. It is a routine appointment and, therefore, brief. The consultation ends soon and Raquel leaves home to go straight to work.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Raquel does not exist, but she could actually exist in any town or city in Spain. Providing remote health services is already a reality for thousands of patients.<span> <\/span><strong>It provides comfort and avoids travel<\/strong><span> <\/span>(saving time, money and reducing one\u2019s carbon footprint).<span> <\/span><strong>It also facilitates and shortens the time to access the healthcare system,<\/strong><span> <\/span>improving patient care and allowing anticipation and response capacity.<\/p>\n<p>During the COVID-19 pandemic,<span> <\/span><strong>telehealth has prevented crowds in health centers<\/strong><span> <\/span><strong>and has accelerate<span>d<\/span><\/strong> the access to the system through new digital tools or simply the telephone. La presi\u00f3n de la pandemia ha propiciado que, en muchas ocasiones,<span> <\/span><strong>la telemedicina se haya implantado de forma abrupta y desordenada<\/strong>, sin que se haya podido dise\u00f1ar una estrategia de implantaci\u00f3n propiamente dicha.<\/p>\n<p>En algunos centros sanitarios,<span> <\/span><strong>se ha impuesto la teleconsulta en todos los pacientes<\/strong>, independientemente de su perfil o patolog\u00eda, encontr\u00e1ndose con reticencias y dificultades a la hora de comunicarse con ellos telem\u00e1ticamente.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; width=&#8221;100%&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font=&#8221;|300|||||||&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;18px&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.6em&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, los centros sanitarios se han encontrado con una importante<span> <\/span><strong>falta de recursos<\/strong><span> <\/span>para llevarla a cabo -como la necesidad de tel\u00e9fonos, auriculares, micr\u00f3fonos o c\u00e1maras web- y todo tipo de<span> <\/span><strong>problemas de gesti\u00f3n y conexi\u00f3n<\/strong><span> <\/span>debido a la falta de coordinaci\u00f3n, informaci\u00f3n y formaci\u00f3n tanto de pacientes como de personal sanitario. Por no hablar de la<span> <\/span><strong>falta de concienciaci\u00f3n<\/strong><span> <\/span>que existe todav\u00eda entre muchos pacientes, que no conciben una llamada telef\u00f3nica con el profesional como una consulta m\u00e9dica.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #522d56;\"><strong>LOS RETOS DE LA TELEMEDICINA<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Es por eso que ahora<span> <\/span><strong>es mandatorio parar y reflexionar para poder dar un paso m\u00e1s<\/strong><span> <\/span><strong>all\u00e1<\/strong><span> <\/span>y ofrecer una experiencia de calidad mediante la telemedicina. Para ello, ser\u00e1 clave<span> <\/span><strong>analizar qu\u00e9 est\u00e1 funcionando bien y qu\u00e9 debe mejorarse<\/strong><span> <\/span>con el objetivo de comprender las necesidades que existen hoy y seguir avanzando en la buena direcci\u00f3n:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d4cdd4;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">01<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/><strong>Entender cu\u00e1ndo la telemedicina es adecuada y cuando no lo es.<\/strong><span> <\/span>Para ello, se requiere conocer bien al paciente y preguntarle qu\u00e9 necesita. \u00bfEn qu\u00e9 visitas es adecuada la telemedicina y en cu\u00e1les no? \u00bfQu\u00e9 patolog\u00edas pueden seguirse a distancia y cu\u00e1les necesitan del calor humano? \u00bfPuede el paciente oncol\u00f3gico discutir su pr\u00f3ximo tratamiento con el m\u00e9dico a trav\u00e9s de una pantalla? \u00bfQuiere una embarazada hacer las clases preparto mediante Zoom?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d4cdd4;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">02<br \/><\/span><\/strong><\/span><strong>Habilitar los recursos clave que permiten llevar a cabo la telemedicina,<span> <\/span><\/strong>que van desde la tecnolog\u00eda (sistema inform\u00e1tico, ordenadores, c\u00e1maras, micr\u00f3fonos), hasta los espacios adecuados para su pr\u00e1ctica (salas tranquilas que permitan la confidencialidad) o el personal necesario para hacer el seguimiento adecuado de los pacientes a distancia. Este esfuerzo econ\u00f3mico se ha empezado a llevar a cabo, aunque todav\u00eda queda camino por recorrer.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d4cdd4;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">03<br \/><\/span><\/strong><\/span><strong>Dise\u00f1ar la nueva experiencia de teleconsulta,<span> <\/span><\/strong>dado que no puede abordarse de la misma manera que una consulta presencial. El paciente necesita que el profesional sea capaz de suplir la falta de proximidad con la actitud y trato adecuados, as\u00ed como herramientas que permitan compartir informaci\u00f3n de forma f\u00e1cil, como si estuvieran los dos en un mismo despacho.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d4cdd4;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">04<br \/><\/span><\/strong><\/span><strong>Potenciar l<\/strong><strong>a capacitaci\u00f3n y formaci\u00f3n de los principales actores implicados,<span> <\/span><\/strong>principalmente m\u00e9dicos y pacientes. Y m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del aprendizaje pr\u00e1ctico, ser\u00e1 importante la gesti\u00f3n de la resistencia al cambio, todav\u00eda muy presente en el paciente principalmente, pero tambi\u00e9n entre el personal sanitario.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d4cdd4;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">05<br \/><\/span><\/strong><\/span><strong>Asegurar la regulaci\u00f3n y protocolizaci\u00f3n del uso de la telemedicina<span> <\/span><\/strong>para proteger la confidencialidad de los pacientes y el intercambio de datos. En ese sentido, ser\u00e1 importante tambi\u00e9n la formaci\u00f3n a profesionales y pacientes en derechos y responsabilidades para preservar la seguridad de los datos.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d4cdd4;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">06<br \/><\/span><\/strong><\/span><strong>Conseguir la difusi\u00f3n de la telemedicina<span> <\/span><\/strong>a la ciudadan\u00eda para que se conozca su existencia, se normalice su uso y se incentive mediante campa\u00f1as institucionales que aboguen por las ventajas para el paciente y el cuidado de su salud.<\/p>\n<p>Como conclusi\u00f3n,<span> <\/span><strong>la telemedicina est\u00e1 en una fase bastante incipiente<\/strong><span> <\/span><strong>en Espa\u00f1a a d\u00eda de hoy<\/strong>.
